Things which are required for charcoal painting are drawing paper or newsprint, Charcoal pencil, Vine charcoal, Charcoal stick and Kneaded eraser. You will want to play with all three to decide which you prefer to sketch with. You will also use more than one type of charcoal in a sketch.
